At The Peña Team, community involvement is at the heart of what we do, and we’re thrilled to introduce you to a local organization doing remarkable work—Food to Power. This nonprofit is deeply committed to food equity and sustainability in Colorado Springs, and we are proud to be partnering with them for our upcoming Blessing Baskets initiative. Let’s take a closer look at what they do and how you can be a part of this impactful collaboration.
What is Food to Power?
Food to Power is on a mission to create a more resilient and just food system in our community. By reducing food waste and improving access to nutritious meals, they’re ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to thrive. Here are just a few of the ways they make a difference:
Food Rescue & Redistribution: Through partnerships with local grocery stores, farms, and restaurants, Food to Power rescues surplus food that would otherwise go to waste and redistributes it to families and individuals in need.
Education & Empowerment: Food to Power offers workshops on growing food, healthy eating, and sustainable living. Their programs empower people to make better food choices and take control of their own nutrition.
Urban Farming: What was once an empty lot is now a thriving urban farm! Food to Power’s farm provides fresh produce for the community while fostering environmental sustainability.
Through their efforts, Food to Power not only fights hunger but also empowers the community to build long-term solutions for food security.
Need Help? Food to Power is Here for You
